RESEARCH ON STABILITY OF JIAONAN TERRANE BASED ON RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FAULTS AND SEISMICITY

  • Through data collection and field geological survey on major faults of the Jiaonan terrane,the latest activity of the faults is determined;combined with seismic activity in the study area it can be proved that the Jiaonan terrane is a weak tectonic activity area,and the result is consistent with the seismic activity conclusions.According to previous studies,Jiaonan terrane is part of the Sulu orogenic belt and its surrounding faults have some new signs of activity,while the internal faults activity is less than the surrounding faults.These evidences prove that the Jiaonan terrane is relatively stable.
