Finite Element Analysis of Steel Beam with Externally Bonded Steel

  • The main advantage of steel beam with steel-bonded reinforcement is to avoid the deformation and stress induced by welding, and it is easy to achieve under load. The I shape steel beam strengthened by bond steel is simulated and analyzed by ABAQUS. The results show that:the simulation results are consistent with the experimental results, and the model is reliable. As the steel plate thickness is less than 5 cm, bearing capacity and stiffness are improved with the increase of the thickness of steel, and when the steel plate is more than 5 cm, the increase of the thickness of the steel bearing capacity is not obvious; there will little influence on the bearing capacity of steel beams and stiffness with the change of the paste steel.
