STUDY ON THE RELATION OF GROUND RESISTIVITY ANOMALIES IN GAOYOU SEISMOSTATION WITH EARTHQUAKES

  • The variation of ground resistivity in Gaoyou Seismostation before Guzheng M5.0, Leiyang M6.0, Sheyang M5.1, Changshou M5.1 earthquake, which occurred within 200km around Gaoyou, and four earthquakes from M6.4 to M7.6 occurred in Taiwan area, is studied with normalized monthly rate method. The results show that the earthquakes in the neighboring region occurred behind the negative anomalies, while the earthquakes in Taiwan area occurred behind positive anomalies. It is concluded that the ground resistivity anomalies in Gaoyou seismostation may be relevant to its special location, and these anomalies ha, ve some capacity to reflect the moderate and strong earthquakes occurred within 200km range and some special positions (such as Taiwan area).
