STUDY ON DEEP TECTONICS, ACTIVE TECTONICS AND THEIR RELATION WITH EARTHQUAKES IN LIAODONG PENINSULA AND ITS SURROUNDING SEA AREA

Liaodong Peninsula and its surrounding sea area are one of the places where the seismicity is frequent.The spatial distribution of seismic activity may emerge from some patterns with stripe shape,network shape and cluster shape etc.This paper presents an analysis of the relation between the deep tectonic,active tectonic and the seismicity.The results show that the shape of Moho discontinuity,the development of deep faults and the special sites of active faults play a controlling role in the seismic distribution,therefore,a number of distribution patterns of seismic activity were formed in the research region.
