THE TENGCHONG-MENGHAI CONJUGATE SEISMOTECTONIC ZONE

  • In this paper, we studied the seismic rupture characteristics in the Tengchong-Menghai region with the comprehensive analysis of the seismic and geologic data. The result shows that a 40km long, 45km wide conjugate seismotectonic zone exists in this region, which consists of one 400km long, 25km wide NNW right lateral shear zone and several crossing left lateral strikeslipe faults. The earthquakes inside the zone showed linear arrangements and have unified period activities.
